Great response to the Compassion event! My husband and I have supported a girl from Dominican Republic for over 10 years. We just returned from a trip to DR where we were able to meet our beautiful gal. She's 18 now; still in the Compassion program because she's still in school. We visited the Compassion project there, met Compassion staff & volunteers, went to our child's home, met her family, and took her shopping (so fun to let her pick out a pair of shoes & buy them for her). She showed us a box full of the letters I have sent over the years--she's kept them all. It was a wonderful experience for us. We saw first-hand how much difference the little we give can make in the lives of children!
